Our Team

Kasin Tan, Chairman

The company’s ‘hyper-connector’, Kasin heads up operations related to Initial CoinOffering (ICO), fundraising and taking the company public.  He also manages the Organization Chart, Standard Operating Procedures, Business Development, Marketing and Sales.  Kasin brings a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree (BMSc) from Western University in London, Ontario to the table.  Kasin completed a double major in Pharmacology and Toxicology there; and a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from the American International Medical University in Washington, DC.

Kasin’s natural training and leadership skills became apparent during his student years.  While in Medical School he initiated the school-wide Early Clinical Experience Program, which provided on the job training at a local hospital and various private practices.  Kasin also independently designed a computer-based scheduling program to improve efficiency. He trained 14 individuals to accelerate system implementation throughout the university and participated in Administrative Committee meetings to determine the long-term benefits of the application.  During that time Kasin was an active Student Council Leader and part of the Medical School’s Mentorship Program.  After graduation, Kasin returned to Canada to work in the emerging medical cannabis sector as VP of Medical Affairs at Bloomera. During his time there, in collaboration with Susan Todd, Dean of Science and Engineering at Durham College, he helped initiate the college’s Medical Cannabis Fundamentals for Business Professionals Program.  Kasin later moved into another emerging market, the blockchain industry. He co-founded two Toronto-based companies, Coinhenge and Coinberry, where he worked asboth VP of Business Development and Market Analyst. Co-founding TalentBlock Inc. was the logical next step in his career, building on his experience and expertise acquired over the previous decade.
Nitin Mascreen, President

As President of TalentBlock Inc., Nitin is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the company. He also oversees strategic partnerships with educational institutions, including the creation and maintenance of all TalentBlock learning and development activities.  Nitin holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), majoring in International Finance and Marketing.  His talent for leadership expressed itself early as captain of the soccer team in high school, university and later in a company soccer club.  His active participation in university debate club also aids in his current role.

Throughout his career, Nitin has applied his training in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to run coaching sessions for diverse groups that include college students, young professionals and senior managers, helping individuals break through barriers to reach their maximum potential.  Nitin began his career in the Human Resources arena. Over a 10-year span, he worked his way up from HR consultant and Generalist to HR Manager, at firms in both India and Canada, including Accenture, IBM, Fidelity Investments and Drake International.  He specialized in designing high-performance strategies to support organizational design and performance management.  He oversaw recruitment and training of staff at all levels for various internal positions, including hiring for executive level positions in the IT sphere. Other responsibilities spanned compensation, leadership development and employee engagement.  At IBM and Fidelity Investments, he created, developed and managed online content through his knowledge of Learning Management Systems.  At both organizations, he created the Standard Operation Procedure for on-boarding new hires, one that Fidelity Investments still uses today, eight years later.  Nitin’s intense interest in computer technology led to his certification as an Ethereum Blockchain Developer.  He went on to add software programming to his skill set, including coding in Solidity, the native language of the Ethereum Blockchain.  He also holds a certificate in UX design.  With his many years in the HR space, combined with his training/coaching experience and knowledge of coding, Nitin’s transition to co-founding TalentBlock Inc. was a natural one. He is passionate about developing a company that excels in all three areas of expertise.
Nigel Grannum, VP Operations

Nigel is responsible for the strategic health and growth of the division. He manages all aspects of operations and business development to create a strong foundation for expansion.  Leading both the recruitment and sales teams, he implements strategies to acquire new clients, and identify the right candidates to meet their needs.  Nigel brings over 10 years’ experience as a Resources and Business Development Manager.  Early in his career he worked at Mosaic Sales Solutions, focusing on networking, building relationships and helping to develop campaigns to drive sales.

From there he moved into the recruitment space, working for one of the top five recruitment agencies in North America, TEK Systems, a leading provider of IT staffing, IT talent management and IT services. As Senior Technical Recruiter, he focused his expertise on infrastructure and the telecommunication industry.  While at TEK Systems, Nigel was instrumental in establishing a Cisco Internet working user group for technical professionals, providing a channel to discuss industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies.  The user group continues today almost a decade later.  As well, Nigel organized live events hosted in offices.  He brought inindustry leaders to speak on specific topics, and structured the events to give job searchers the opportunity to meet and engage with people in their targeted industries.  Nigel went on to work at Redwood Global, a national supplier of technology and finance professionals. As Senior Resource Manager, he recruited software developers, project managers, business analysts, system engineers, quality assurance specialists and other professionals for organizations in all industry sectors.  Nigel later worked at isgSearch, a leading Canadian recruitment firm specializing in Information Technology. isgSearch offers a customized ‘boutique style’ approach in two key areas: Information Technology and Professional Search. Nigel was instrumental in growing key accounts for the placement of numerous technical and non-technical professionals. As a mentor to both new and established team members, he provided the leadership needed to help them further their careers.  Nigel’s involvement with the Landmark Forum over the years, where he completed advanced coursework in communications, self-expression and leadership, and assisted as production supervisor on numerous programs, supports his current role at TalentBlock Inc.  As the company co-founder in charge of Recruitment, Nigel’s cumulative experience ensures a high success rate in meeting the needs of both clients and candidates. Both groups benefit from the large network he has built, comprised of some of the best and brightest technical professional talent in the GTA; his ability to spot top talent and match them with his clients’ needs; and his enjoyment helping technical professionals find meaningful employment.
Elaine Leung, Executive Administrator

As an executive administrator at talentBLOCK, Elaine plays a key role in supporting all our senior managers and executives to ensure day-to-day office operations run smoothly. She has a proven track record as a multitasker with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Elaine brings to the job a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from University of Toronto, where she completed a double major in Psychology and Health Sciences. She has over 8 years experience in administration and managerial field. Her good communication and organization skills had been assets to several start up companies such as Coinhenge, Coinberry and Cryptonaire Consulting Group (CCG).

She has experience in managing people, projects, and daily administrative processes for a multi-million real estate portfolio in Toronto, ON.  She has over 4 years experience with YLC Asset Management Corp, where she took proactive, hands-on approaches in providing superior management services.  She has experience in managing budgets, payroll, and expense processes. With many years of administration and office management, it was a natural fit for Elaine to team up with talentBLOCK.
